Congratulations to Abbie Turner, All About Caring

Dr Johnny Bourke, Abbie Turner

Michelle Lang, Dana Gwinnell, Abbie Turner, Danielle Bennett
"Despite Abbie being new to the disability sector, she engaged with the community seamlessly by providing critical support to a toddler with highly complex clinical needs. Through her dedicated care and support, she enabled the child and the family to participate in community activities such as attending weekly playgroups and shopping, which were previously not possible due to the child's clinical requirements and impact on the family unit. This engagement allowed the family to experience a sense of normalcy and inclusion in community life, fostering a supportive environment for both the child’s development and the family's well-being." Danielle Bennett, All About Caring.

Shortlisted Candidates
Tina Falkner, All About Caring
"Tina engaged with community resources in a meaningful way by addressing the deeply personal and challenging needs of a client who had refused personal care since November 2023. By working with the clients treating team and leveraging the client’s existing community support networks built within All About Caring, Tina was able to implement strategic interventions that encouraged the client to resume their personal care routine, including showering and changing clothes. This approach not only improved the client’s physical well-being but also helped them regain independence and better prepare for crucial health appointments. Tina’s effective use of community resources played a key role in supporting the client’s recovery journey."
